The UBC Climate Action Partnership

Vision: The UBC Climate Action Partnership unites UBC scholars, researchers, students, staff, and campus community members to make UBC a model of climate neutrality. We are working together to make our university an incubator for cutting edge climate change solutions and a model for other campuses and communities.

Mission: The UBC Climate Action Partnership seeks to harness UBC's innovative, educative and research potential to reduce the University's contribution to climate change. Through this partnership we will create a roadmap to make UBC climate neutral within 10 years, with yearly emission reduction action plans and reporting.

Our Process

The Climate Action Partnership aims to create a strategy for how UBC can take action on climate change. We are hoping to set up a series of roundtables that include students, staff, faculty, administrators and other university stakeholders who have an interest in helping visioning a Climate friendly campus.

Over the fall, with the help of a facilitator and a writer, it is the hope that each of the roundtables will produce a working paper. This series of working papers will then form the basis of UBC's climate action strategy. Our hope is that interested community members would contribute their research and ideas to a roundtable and its working paper.
