Common Energy UBC is an emerging network of students, staff, faculty and community stakeholders that are working in dynamic ways to make UBC campus climate neutral. We envision UBC setting an example of the political, social, environmental, and economical solutions needed to build livable futures in the context of the climate crisis.

UBC Common Energy Seeks to create a climate neutral campus through:

  • mobilizing the research and educational capacity of UBC;
  • promoting a fundamental shift in the way community members perceive their role in addressing climate change;
  • developing a green network of students, staff, faculty, administrators, and other campus community stakeholders;
  • implementing tangible emission reduction projects;
  • creating links with off-campus communities and educational institutions;
  • establishing an inclusive and participatory decision-making process.
